I know i'm no longer the Sarge, but i like this section - gives me chance to express my thoughts on things, so i'm keeping Sarge's view, written by the ghost of Sarge past - me :) Gathering 1108 (2008) Firstly I think I should thank the Harts faction, if they hadn't have peeved us off so much, we may have missed out on joining the Lions and that would have been a tragedy! So secondly I'll thank the Lions for the best Gathering i've been to so far, the faction and people were 100%. Dave and Helen (Lord and Lady y'b'Astid) were very supportive and made us feel very welcome, as did everyone else in the faction. Also should say a big well done to Dean and Josh who monstered so much that at one point they had more money than the rest of us put together. That is until Matt got hold of it. For the first time i think the LT can actually put me down as a HAPPY customer so i applaud them as well, i'm feeling shocked, nothing to moan about ! The Raggers were awesome, very good fighters and very well disciplined. The Bishop's men were rather good as well and Orpheus commented on how well we worked together. So the future is looking rosy. I hope we can get more players to join us before next year we have the foundation for a very, very good unit. Talking of new players Paul's dad joined us and seriously kicked arse, what a great fella, the way he had a go at everyone and everything was pure quality. Phil hopefully see you at the next event pal! On a personal note, thanks guys for putting up with Jack he loved it and he'll be coming again next year. Thanks to Phil/Matt/Tony for preparing and cooking the curry and to Andy (yet again) who is THE BBQ-meister! The photos off the 'Miss Orlagnon' contest will be posted on the yahoo site. Also anyone who hasn't made an effort to come to an event is being removed off this site as a time waster, so basically if you haven't met them then you never will :) Cheers guys! Dave
| 'Grey Spirit Yearning' Lions Winter event 2008 (Whitby) Around 10-12 of us went to monster this event up near Whitby, it was a brilliant event to monster and I know the fact that we fight hard but fair was really appreciated from the players, we met a couple of Austrian/Swiss lads there also monstering, Luca and Pierre both bloody good lads and we'd happily scrap with them again. 'To Strive' Lions Spring event 2009 (Leicester) Again 10-12 of us went and we monstered, it was enjoyable but there was far too much waiting in the monster room and not nearly enough fighting for us. Still good weekend had by all. Three Lions snuffed it, so at least we managed to give the players as much of a kickin' as we took ourselves. Next event to look forward to is training day, should have a good turn out. See the forums for updates.
Wolverine Training Day - April We had a good turn out for this, the weather also smiled on us as it was lovely and sunny. Matt and Hugh ran things, putting us all through various different scenarios which everyone fully enjoyed. Dean and Josh brought a mate along, a lad called Matt. He seemed to enjoy himself. he listened and got stuck in, we all liked him so hopefully a new recruit there. After the winter break from LARP it was good to be swinging weapons again just to get back in the mood for the events. The Asbo-rines were on top form especially Chris' lad Ethan who joined us for the first time, he enjoyed running around with Andy scouting for the enemy, definately a future 'Pathfinder' there. He's definately going to be harassing his dad to come to the events in the future. After 'training' for around 3 hours, we relaxed at the Snake Pass Inn with a few drinks and chatted about some group issues. The results of this chat is posted in the LOGISTICS topic in the forums. |
On a final note, If you think of anything or want to contact us either post it here on the Wolverine forum pages or e-mail me on either gaelstrom@hotmail.com other details can be found on the 'Contact Us' page.
Cheers, Dave ( ic - Rogarth )
