The Wolverines

Upon setting sail from Albion the Wolverines received several offers for the service of the Free Company. The offer chosen was that made by the Bastids of Orlagnon because it contained land for the Wolverines to make their own.

So it came to pass that the Wolverines navigated the Sea Rat across the treacherous open seas of Erdreja, past the islands of Mauratana and the Empire isles to make landfall on the islands of Lantia in one of the Southern most parts of known Erdreja.

Orlagnon is a wild place, only transiently civilised and home to large numbers of the beast like creatures known as the 'Breed'. In return for patrolling the wildlands and protecting trade and civilised settlements the Wolverines have been granted ownership of an ancient Lantian coastal fort (now Castle Garlan) and surrounding lands.

Although the fort was dilapidated the Wolverines set too with a will under Captain Skarn. The gatehouse has been rebuilt with a drawbridge, and murder holes added. The landward battlements have been reinforced with niches and crenelations atop and buttresses below. An inner keep is also under construction to complete the works and there is still much to do.

A great forge was soon in operation and it is now rare to see one of the small group of elite warriors without master crafted weapons and armour. Castle Garlan also boasts extensive stores and a well equipped infirmary as well as a small but growing marketplace for native and overseas goods.

Under Captain Sangrim a great brewery has begun and trade links are being forged with not just humans, but also with the wilder (but no less thirsty!) breed.
